From department store to flexible office location: The WertInvest Group, which specialises in architecturally sophisticated property developments, has teamed up with Mindspace to develop a new innovative project in the popular district of Berlin-Mitte.
Only a few minutes' walk from Berlin's Alexanderplatz, the famous Berlin television tower and Hackescher Markt, this is a location where tradition and modernity meet in perfect harmony. Built between 1909 and 1910 by architect Albert Wehe for the Neue Berlinische Baugesellschaft as a department store, the historic red brick building now offers an impressive 4,100 square metres and five floors of space for up to 700 workstations for entrepreneurs, start-ups and freelancers. Inspiring workspaces can be rented in open-plan spaces, individual or team offices or even entire floors - flexibly for a month or longer.
Münzstrasse 12 in Berlin has been part of the WertInvest Group's portfolio since 2014. Together with boutique flex office provider Mindspace, the historic building was carefully renovated to high architectural and design standards.

The combination of quality and design continues inside with modern and high quality furniture in 1970s boutique style, artwork and high ceilings. The flex offices feature a variety of amenities, including meeting rooms, shared kitchens and a multifunctional open space that can be used for events.
At first glance, the 1913 former department store has an almost austere appearance. A closer look reveals the intricate detailing of the windows and facade. It is a masterpiece of early reinforced concrete construction, adorned with reliefs of animals, plants and abstract ornamentation, as well as intricate stucco work and statues.
